A Golden Opportunity for Youth of Sindh to Join Lahore Qalandars
Cricket trials begin across Sindh in collaboration with PMYP, HEC, and Lahore Qalandars.
KARACHI – July 9, 2025 – Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) is offering young individuals in Sindh a fantastic opportunity to display their cricketing skills and potentially join the Lahore Qalandars, the champion team of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The cricket trials will officially begin on July 10, 2025, at NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, and will later continue in Hyderabad, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sukkur. These trials aim to provide a platform for young boys and girls from across Sindh to display their talent and pursue their dreams in professional cricket.
The opening ceremony of the trials will be held on July 10 at NED University, where notable dignitaries, including Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, Provincial Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Focal Person PMYP Sindh Chapter, Fahad Shafiq, and Incharge Sports, HEC Javed Ali Memon, will grace the occasion with their presence.
Speaking about the initiative, Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that in pursuit of the successful trials held in Quetta, Balochistan, where we witnessed tremendous participation from Balochi youth, we are excited to see the same passion from the youth in Sindh. Our goal is to create equal opportunities for young individuals across various regions, enabling them to excel and represent Pakistan proudly.” He emphasized that these trials not only promote sports in Sindh but also bring hope, dedication, and new prospects for youth throughout Pakistan.
Talent Hunt for Hockey, Volleyball Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, Handball, Weightlifting, Wrestling etc. have been done throughout Pakistan under the Prime Minister Youth Programme through Higher Education Commission.
