Advanced gyne robotic surgery has begun at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari. A 45 year old patient had her tumor and uterus removed through a robot.

‎According to details, the first advanced gyne robotic surgery in Sindh was performed at Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari. The advanced gyne tumor surgery was carried out by Professor Dr Anjum and Professor Dr Sehar.

‎An assisting team was also present with both doctors. The 45 year old patient had her tumor and uterus removed through the robot. The surgery was successful and the patient’s condition is stable.

‎Dr Anjum Rehman said that robotic surgery is a very important achievement in the field of gynecology, and the surgeon no longer needs to be present in the operation theatre.

‎He said that now surgeons can perform operations directly from the office. In the coming days, complicated delivery cases will also be conducted through robotic surgery.
