Karachi — Senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar has said that it was his party’s efforts that enabled Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to secure significant authority under the 7th National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.
Speaking to reporters, Farooq Sattar stated that the decisions made at that time strengthened the financial structure of the provinces and opened the door for greater fiscal autonomy.
He added that while political disagreements may exist today, the contributions made toward strengthening the NFC framework must be acknowledged.
Sattar further said that the focus should now be on ensuring transparent implementation of national financial policies so that resources reach the people they are meant for.
