Faisalabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabad has arrested Hassan Raza, the main suspect in a Rs 36.2 million (USD 128,000) bank fraud, during a targeted raid in Hassan-Pura.
According to investigations, Hassan Raza allegedly conspired with employees of a private bank to transfer funds from a citizen’s account into fake accounts created at the Gatwala branch. He was also a joint account holder in one of the accounts used for the withdrawals.
The FIA had earlier apprehended Branch Manager Usman and Relationship Manager Shahzad for their alleged role in creating the fake accounts and approving the illicit transactions.
Authorities stated that Hassan Raza is also wanted by local police in eight separate robbery cases. The suspect has been handed over to the concerned authorities for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
