Flying High — Pakistan’s Victory and a New Economic Journey: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared on Saturday that Pakistan is “flying high” after its recent military victory over India and major economic progress under his leadership.

Speaking at the Quetta Command and Staff College, he praised the armed forces for their successful counter-operations. The PM said Indian airstrikes in early May killed civilians, but Pakistan responded strongly, downing five Indian jets.

“The enemy thought we were weak, but we proved them wrong,” said PM Shehbaz. “This moment marks a turning point in our history.”

He warned that future threats won’t just come from the battlefield but also from cyberattacks, economic pressure, and disinformation campaigns.

The PM revealed that the operation, named “Bunyanum Marsoos”, destroyed India’s defense line and shattered the myth of its military power.

Economic Comeback

PM Shehbaz also spoke about the tough economic challenges faced in 2022 when international banks were refusing to open Letters of Credit (LCs) for Pakistan. “We were on the edge of default,” he said, “but we took bold steps.”

He credited the IMF standby agreement in 2023 and major reforms in 2024 for pulling Pakistan back from crisis. “Inflation has dropped from 38% to 0.3%, interest rates are now 11%, and the rupee is stable,” he shared.

The PM called this progress the result of “the sacrifice, blood, and sweat of the Pakistani people.”

He ended his speech by saying, “This is just the beginning. We still have a long way to go, but we will face every challenge with courage and unity.”
