The annual ceremonial changing of the Ghilaf-e-Kaaba was held at the holy Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, marking a deeply spiritual and significant Islamic tradition.
The new embroidered cloth, known as the Ghilaf, was carefully installed over the Holy Kaaba by teams of skilled workers under the supervision of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. The ceremony took place after Fajr prayer amid strict security arrangements and the presence of senior officials.
The Ghilaf-e-Kaaba is replaced annually on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, just before the Day of Arafah during Hajj, symbolizing renewal and reverence for Islam’s holiest site.
Masjid al-Haram is considered the most sacred mosque in Islam, and the Kaaba remains the focal point of Muslim worship worldwide, with millions of pilgrims visiting each year for Hajj and Umrah.
The event is regarded as one of the most important religious ceremonies in the Islamic calendar, reflecting devotion, unity, and spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide.
