An increase in cases of gastroenteritis and diarrhea has been observed in Karachi.
A growing number of patients suffering from gastroenteritis and diarrhea are being seen in the emergency departments of various hospitals across the city.
According to Dr. Imran Sarwar, more than 200 patients with stomach-related illnesses and diarrhea are visiting Civil Hospital daily.
Dr. Irfan said that the number of gastroenteritis and diarrhea patients arriving daily at Jinnah Hospital has exceeded 150.
Medical experts say that citizens are visiting hospitals with complaints of abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, and loose motions. Meat stored in freezers can cause stomach problems if it is not cooked properly.
Medical experts further stated that substandard and contaminated food is a major cause of the spread of gastroenteritis. They advised citizens to consume fresh and hygienic food, keep food covered, and store it in refrigerators at an appropriate temperature.
