Islamabad: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, with discussions focusing on bilateral relations, regional security, border management, and cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two neighboring countries and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Matters related to trade, security coordination, and regional stability were also discussed.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the long-standing historical and cultural links between Pakistan and Iran and expressed Pakistan’s desire to further enhance economic and diplomatic relations.
The Iranian interior minister’s visit comes amid ongoing efforts by both countries to improve coordination on security matters, particularly along their shared border, and to promote greater cooperation for regional peace and development.
Officials from both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining constructive engagement and working together on common challenges.
