Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has launched a new “Taleem Card” initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged students in Karachi’s Gulberg Town. Under the programme, children from low-income families will receive educational assistance worth up to Rs10,000 for purchasing books, uniforms, courses, and stationery.
The announcement was made during a press conference held in Karachi, where Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Monem Zafar addressed the media. He said the initiative is designed to help families struggling with rising educational expenses and ensure that children continue their studies without financial barriers.
During the event, officials from the Pakistan International Business Forum, including Sohail Aziz; Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry representatives Abdullah Abid and Masroor Alvi; and others announced their support and cooperation for the education card programme.
Organisers said the initiative will focus on assisting deserving students and expanding educational opportunities for children in Karachi. The programme is expected to provide relief to many families facing economic challenges amid increasing inflation and education costs.
