Human rights activist Jibran Nasir has leveled explosive allegations against the Sindh government and provincial police, accusing them of actively protecting the individuals responsible for the murder of Mir Raza.

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Nasir claimed that the investigation has been deliberately stalled to shield politically connected suspects. He argued that the failure to secure arrests months after the incident points to a calculated effort by law enforcement to bury the case.

“The police aren’t just failing to catch the killers; they are providing them cover,” Nasir told reporters. He pointed to specific procedural delays, including the mishandling of forensic evidence and the repeated transfer of investigating officers, as evidence of a systemic attempt to protect the perpetrators.

For the family of Mir Raza, the lack of progress has become a source of profound anguish. Nasir emphasized that the victim’s relatives have been forced to navigate a labyrinth of bureaucratic indifference, only to be met with silence from the provincial administration.

The Sindh government has yet to issue a formal rebuttal to these accusations. When pressed for comment, police officials routinely cite an “ongoing investigation,” a line that Nasir dismissed as a tired excuse used to deflect accountability.

This is not the first time Nasir has challenged the provincial authorities on high-profile criminal cases. His latest intervention, however, targets the core of the state’s investigative machinery.

If these claims of complicity hold weight, the case will shift from a standard criminal inquiry to a significant political crisis for the ruling party in Sindh. For now, the files remain open, the suspects remain at large, and the demand for justice is being met with the same wall of silence that has defined the case from the start.
