Lahore: All government and private schools in Lahore have been closed immediately, and Punjab University’s Law examinations scheduled for today have been postponed, following widespread road blockages and heightened security concerns across the city. Authorities cited public safety as the main reason behind the sudden closures and exam deferments.
The CEO Education Lahore confirmed that schools are informing parents about the closures, while Punjab University announced that new dates for the postponed exams will be shared later. Earlier, several private educational institutions in Rawalpindi also suspended operations due to similar disruptions.
In the capital, Islamabad, security measures have been tightened after a religious organization announced a protest. Authorities have imposed Section 144 and suspended mobile and internet services to prevent disturbances and maintain law and order.
