Under the Chief Minister Punjab Transplant Program, residents of Punjab are being provided free kidney, liver, bone marrow, and cornea transplants, along with cochlear implant facilities.
In addition, treatment at any public hospital in Punjab is completely free. Whether it is heart surgery or cancer treatment, organ transplantation or dialysis, all facilities are available without any fee.
These facilities were not previously available, and free medicines had been discontinued. Now, not only have all free medicines been restored, but patients suffering from diabetes, heart diseases, hepatitis, and cancer are also receiving a two-month supply of medicines delivered to their doorsteps.
