ISLAMABAD — The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a substantial reduction in the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across Pakistan for the month of July 2026. According to the official notification, the price of LPG has been slashed by PKR 67.33 per kilogram, lowering the market rate from PKR 308.76 to PKR 241.43 per kilogram. Consequently, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic gas cylinder has decreased by PKR 794.50, bringing the new consumer cost down from PKR 3,643.41 to PKR 2,848.91.

In a parallel fiscal development, the federal government has officially established the Petroleum Prices Stabilisation Fund (PPSF) to buffer the domestic market against international fuel price shocks. Following federal cabinet approval, the Ministry of Finance issued a directive allocating a specific head of account for the fund under the Public Account of the Federation’s “Special Deposit Fund.” The operating procedures, governance rules, and financial frameworks for the PPSF will be jointly structured by the Finance Division, Petroleum Division, and OGRA. Copies of this regulatory notification have been dispatched to the Auditor General of Pakistan and provincial accounting departments for immediate structural implementation.
