Polio Case Reported from South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ‎

Another case of polio virus has been reported in the country, bringing the total number of polio cases this year to 24.

‎According to sources from the reference lab, the National Reference Lab has confirmed another polio case in the country, which has been reported from South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

‎Sources said the affected child is a 20-month-old girl from Jandola, UC Ping, in Tank Tehsil. This marks the 16th case reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year, while 14 cases have been reported from South KP so far.

‎Reference lab sources added that genetic testing of the polio case is underway. Due to security issues, polio campaigns are not conducted in Jandola.
