Presence of Lead Found in the Blood of Pakistani Children

A joint report by the Ministry of Health and UNICEF has revealed the presence of lead in the blood of Pakistani children.

‎The report stated that high levels of lead were found in the blood of children from seven cities.

‎According to the report, lead was detected in the blood of 4 out of 10 children aged between 1 and 3 years.

‎The report said that blood samples of children were collected from Islamabad, Haripur, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and Rawalpindi.

‎In the Hattar area of Haripur, lead was found in the blood of 88 percent of children.

‎According to the Ministry of Health and UNICEF report, the level of lead found in the blood of children in Islamabad was recorded at 1 percent.
