Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a significant reduction in fuel prices, slashing petrol by Rs74 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs67 per litre. The decision comes as part of the government’s effort to provide relief to the public amid fluctuating global oil prices and domestic inflation concerns.
According to official sources, the price cut reflects changes in international crude oil rates and adjustments in the petroleum levy. The government stated that the relief is aimed at easing transportation costs, reducing inflationary pressure, and supporting the general public and business sector.
Citizens across the country are expected to benefit from lower transport fares and reduced commodity prices following the announcement.
