Following Pakistan’s emphatic victory in the ICC U19 Asia Cup, Test captain Shan Masood paid glowing tribute to team manager and mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed for his guidance and leadership.
Pakistan secured the title by defeating arch-rivals India by a massive margin of 191 runs in the final. This marked Pakistan’s second U19 Asia Cup title, having previously shared the championship with India in 2012.
Taking to social media platform X, Shan Masood lauded the young players for their outstanding performance and also acknowledged the efforts of Sarfaraz Ahmed along with the entire coaching staff.
In his message, Shan Masood described the day as a special and memorable moment for Pakistan, stating that the U19 team delivered a remarkable performance in a high-pressure match and won the hearts of fans.
He highlighted the team’s fearless approach, exceptional maturity, confidence and strong teamwork, adding that the youngsters proved their ability to perform at the highest level even under intense pressure.
Shan Masood also extended special appreciation to Sarfaraz Ahmed and his coaching team, crediting their mentorship and support for guiding the team to this significant achievement.
