Buner District emerged as the epicenter of this tragedy, accounting for 184 deaths, while 23 people were injured in the same district . Additional operational hazards surfaced when a rescue helicopter crashed amid the storms, killing all five crew members onboard .

Infrastructure damage is extensive: more than 68 homes were affected—61 partially damaged and 7 completely destroyed . The provincial authorities have forecast that the heavy rains and flood risks are likely to persist through August 21 .
