The Sindh government has clarified its policy regarding the establishment of private hospitals and has launched action against unregistered and fake medical facilities.
According to the Sindh Health Department, only those individuals who hold a valid MBBS or relevant medical degree are allowed to open a private hospital.
The spokesperson for the Health Department stated that nursing staff, paramedical staff, or supporting staff will not be authorized to establish hospitals. In this regard, the Director General Health Sindh has issued a written directive, which has been sent to all District Health Officers (DHOs) and Medical Superintendents.
The letter instructs that all certificates issued in violation of rules and regulations be cancelled immediately. Records of hospitals that have been approved according to government policy are to be provided to the Health Department.
The Sindh Health Department says that efforts to identify fake hospitals and take strict action against them across the province have been intensified.
