LAHORE: Twenty-five years after they first walked the historic corridors of King Edward Medical University, the MBBS Batch 2000 (KEMCOLIANS) returned to their alma mater for a deeply emotional and dignified Silver Jubilee Reunion, celebrating a shared journey of learning, service, and lifelong fellowship.

Held on the university campus in Lahore, the reunion brought together doctors now serving across Pakistan and around the world. The atmosphere was charged with nostalgia, warmth, and pride—reflecting not only personal memories, but also a collective identity shaped by King Edward’s enduring legacy.

Leadership message: Alumni as living ambassadors

The ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz, who attended as Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized that KEMCOLIANS are far more than former students—they are living ambassadors of King Edward Medical University, carrying forward its values of academic excellence, ethical practice, and service to humanity.

He paid tribute to the Batch of 2000 for their professional achievements and national and international contributions, noting that such reunions play a vital role in strengthening the bond between the university and its alumni community.

A reunion made possible through dedicated leadership

The event was meticulously organized under the leadership of Professor Mustehsan Bashir, Chairman, Department of Plastic Surgery. His sincerity, tireless efforts, and exceptional organizational skills were widely acknowledged by participants, who credited his dedication for making the Silver Jubilee Reunion both memorable and meaningful.

Memories, reflections, and a renewed commitment

Throughout the gathering, members of Batch 2000 shared reflections on their student life—recalling struggles, friendships, sacrifices, and defining moments that shaped their careers. These exchanges went beyond nostalgia; they reaffirmed a collective resolve to continue supporting King Edward Medical University through future collaboration, mentorship, and professional engagement.

For many, the reunion was a reminder that King Edward is not merely an academic institution, but a family—one whose bonds transcend time, geography, and professional commitments.

More than a reunion, a living legacy

The Silver Jubilee Reunion of KEMCOLIANS Batch 2000 stood as a powerful testament to the enduring spirit of King Edward Medical University. It highlighted how alumni networks rooted in shared values can strengthen medical education, inspire younger generations, and contribute meaningfully to healthcare in Pakistan and beyond.
