The official Apna Ghar portal says the scheme is open to first-time homebuyers across Pakistan who hold a valid CNIC and do not already own a housing unit. Financing is available for the purchase or construction of a completed housing unit.
The loan limit is up to Rs. 10 million. The markup rate is fixed at 5% for the first 10 years, while the remaining 10 years are charged at the market rate. The repayment period is up to 20 years.
Under the scheme, financing can be used for a house of up to 10 marla or for an apartment of up to 1,500 square feet. The loan-to-value ratio is 90%, which means the bank can finance 90% of the property value and the applicant must contribute the remaining 10%.
The portal also states that there is no processing fee and no prepayment penalty. Applications can be submitted through participating commercial banks, Islamic banks, microfinance banks, and HBFCL.
