A joint report by the Ministry of Health and UNICEF has revealed the presence of lead in the blood of Pakistani children.
The report stated that high levels of lead were found in the blood of children from seven cities.
According to the report, lead was detected in the blood of 4 out of 10 children aged between 1 and 3 years.
The report said that blood samples of children were collected from Islamabad, Haripur, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and Rawalpindi.
In the Hattar area of Haripur, lead was found in the blood of 88 percent of children.
According to the Ministry of Health and UNICEF report, the level of lead found in the blood of children in Islamabad was recorded at 1 percent.
