Due to the increasing intensity of heat, citizens have been advised to adopt precautionary measures to avoid heatstroke.

‎According to medical experts, failure to take precautions in extreme heat can make heatstroke fatal, therefore citizens should avoid going out in the sun unnecessarily.

‎Experts say that major symptoms of heatstroke include a very high body temperature, headache, dizziness, restlessness, severe weakness, fainting, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, and hot, dry skin.

‎If any person shows these symptoms, they should be immediately moved to a shaded or cool place and provided with medical assistance.

‎To prevent heatstroke, citizens have been advised to avoid going out in the sun, especially between 11 am and 3 pm, as the sun’s intensity is highest during this time.

‎Similarly, increased intake of water, beverages, and oral rehydration solutions (ORS) is recommended to prevent dehydration.

‎According to experts, wearing light colored and loose clothing can also help reduce the effects of heat, while special care should be taken of children, the elderly, and patients, as they are more vulnerable to extreme heat.

‎Experts have appealed to citizens that if someone shows symptoms of heatstroke, they should be immediately given water, made to sit in a cool place, efforts should be made to cool the body, and they should be taken without delay to the nearest hospital or medical center.

‎Medical experts further stated that timely precautions and immediate assistance can save valuable lives.
