The Sindh High Court has declared the sealing of the Bus Rapid Transit office illegal and directed authorities to take necessary action within a set deadline regarding the University Road project.

During the hearing, the court expressed concern over the delay and administrative handling of the matter, observing that public development projects should not be disrupted through unlawful measures. The court ruled that the sealing of the BRT office had no legal basis and ordered the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with the law.

The court also set a deadline for completing or addressing key issues related to University Road, a major route used by thousands of commuters daily. The delay in work on the road has caused traffic congestion, inconvenience for residents, and difficulties for businesses in the area.

Officials connected with the project have been directed to submit progress details and ensure that work is carried out without further unnecessary delay.

The case highlights ongoing concerns over urban infrastructure projects in Karachi, where delays, poor coordination, and administrative disputes often affect public mobility and daily life.
