The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to assist Pakistan in formulating a comprehensive climate strategy and policy framework aimed at strengthening the country’s environmental resilience and climate adaptability.
This agreement was reached during a high-level meeting between an ADB delegation led by Director General Bruno Carrasco and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, along with other senior officials.
The discussions emphasized the urgency of adopting a forward-looking approach to address the country’s mounting climate challenges. Both sides highlighted the importance of supporting youth-led climate initiatives, including preparation, mentorship, and funding, recognizing their potential to drive innovative solutions and strengthen Pakistan’s global standing in climate action.
The meeting also explored opportunities for joint ventures in climate financing and investment, aiming to mobilize significant resources for sustainable development.
Minister Malik stressed the importance of shifting from planning to implementation, assuring the ADB of Pakistan’s full cooperation to achieve effective outcomes.
