The Sindh government has announced plans to launch an internship program for degree holders in November 2026, aiming to help young graduates gain practical work experience and improve their employment prospects.
Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the initiative, saying the government wants to provide young people with better opportunities to develop professional skills and prepare for the job market.
The program will be introduced through the government’s I Work for Sindh employment platform. Alongside the internships, the government also plans to begin the next phase of in-person short courses for skilled individuals in collaboration with companies. These courses will focus on developing skills that match current market requirements.
According to the minister, the I Work for Sindh platform has recorded more than 5.3 million visits and currently lists 26,677 active job opportunities. The platform has registered 137,770 candidates and 726 companies, while the number of submitted job applications has reached approximately 480,000.
Memon further stated that around 4,800 candidates had completed various training courses during the previous three months, while approximately 6,000 others were continuing their training. Career counselling sessions are also being conducted regularly to help young people make informed decisions about their professional futures.
The internship initiative is intended to bridge the gap between academic qualifications and workplace experience. However, the government has not yet announced the number of internship positions, eligibility criteria, application deadline, or stipend details. Graduates should wait for the official announcement for complete application instructions.
