A Matter of Concern for Health Department: Third Case of Monkeypox Reported in Lahore

The third case of monkeypox has been reported in Lahore, as 20 year old Zulfiqar, admitted to Mayo Hospital, tested positive for the virus.

‎According to sources, the Punjab AIDS Control Program laboratory confirmed Zulfiqar’s positive monkeypox report. He was brought to Mayo Hospital, Lahore, from Bhakkar Jail.

‎Meanwhile, the relatives of the first patient who died from monkeypox have been quarantined. Zulfiqar, son of Misri Khan, was admitted to the hospital four days ago.

‎Concerns about the spread of monkeypox in Lahore and across Punjab are increasing, as three cases have been reported so far this year.
