Experts have created the world’s first smartphone test capable of diagnosing type 2 diabetes in less than 10 minutes.

‎Cumbria and the North East of England NHS Trusts are the first organizations to provide patients access to the Diabetes Health Check app, while a nationwide rollout is planned by the end of this year.

‎According to PocDoc, the company that developed the app, the test will save the NHS billions of pounds.

‎This new test will bring revolutionary changes to the treatment of this chronic disease, which costs the NHS £8.8 billion annually.

‎PocDoc CEO Steve Roest stated that screening for type 2 diabetes risks through a smartphone app is something that has never been done before.
