Aleema Khan raises alarms over PTI founder’s health in Adiala Jail

Aleema Khan says her brother, the imprisoned founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is facing a “rapid decline” in his health while held in Adiala Jail. She claims the former prime minister has been denied access to his personal physician, leaving his medical condition in a state of uncertainty.

The family’s concerns center on the lack of transparency regarding the founder’s daily checkups. Aleema Khan told reporters outside the jail gates that the administration has consistently blocked independent medical evaluations. Without these, she argued, the party leadership and the public are left in the dark about the true nature of his condition.

The government has repeatedly dismissed these claims as political maneuvering. Officials maintain that the jail authorities provide all necessary medical care according to the law. For the PTI, however, the silence is a weapon. They see the restriction on medical access not as a standard security protocol, but as a deliberate attempt to break the spirit of their leader.

This isn’t the first time the founder’s health has become a flashpoint. Since his incarceration, his legal team has filed multiple petitions in the Islamabad High Court, demanding that he be allowed a private doctor. The court has previously directed the jail authorities to ensure standard medical facilities, yet the PTI claims these orders remain ignored.

The political stakes remain high. With the party locked in a tense standoff with the current administration, any news regarding the founder’s health carries immense weight. Supporters view his confinement as a litmus test for the country’s judicial independence, while the government remains focused on the corruption cases that landed him in jail in the first place.

Aleema Khan’s latest statement is a blunt warning to the authorities. She made it clear that if his health deteriorates further, the responsibility will lie squarely with the state.

For now, the founder remains inside Adiala, and the wall between his medical reality and the public narrative shows no sign of crumbling.
