Islamabad — The federal government has finalized the framework for the 27th Constitutional Amendment, proposing changes in several key articles of the Constitution to enhance transparency, strengthen provincial autonomy, and improve the balance of power between federal and provincial institutions.
According to official sources, the proposed amendment targets Articles 51, 63A, 140A, and 160. The changes aim to ensure fair seat distribution in the National Assembly, clarify disqualification laws for lawmakers, empower local governments, and make financial resource allocation through the NFC Award more transparent and equitable.
Government officials believe the move will pave the way for stronger local governance and public participation in decision-making. Political observers see the amendment as a major step toward a more accountable and inclusive democratic system in Pakistan.
