MARANELLO — Luxury sports car icon Ferrari has successfully met its 2026 annual sales target for the “Luce,” its highly anticipated and first-ever fully electric vehicle, propelled by robust demand in key markets like China. Priced at €550,000 ($626,285), the four-door, five-seat grand tourer represents a radical structural departure from the Italian marque’s traditional low-slung, petrol-powered V12 supercars. Featuring a distinctive “Glass House” fastback aerodynamic design conceptualized by Jony Ive’s studio LoveFrom, the Luce packs a formidable quad-motor setup delivering 1,035 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and offering a 530 km range supported by 350 kW fast-charging capabilities.

Despite initial online backlash and controversy over abandoning traditional internal combustion engine acoustics and aesthetics—factors that even prompted Ferrari to delay a secondary EV project to 2028—the luxury carmaker reportedly met its target of just under 500 units within a mere two months. Ferrari has strategically positioned the Luce as a “360°” expansion vehicle designed to broaden its consumer base without phasing out its classic combustion and hybrid lineups.
