RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan met his wife, Bushra Bibi, at Adiala Jail on Monday, while his sister Aleema Khan alleged that restrictions on access to the former prime minister remained in place despite court directives.
Speaking to reporters outside the prison, Aleema Khan claimed that family members, lawyers, and party representatives continued to face difficulties in securing regular meetings with Imran Khan. She argued that the restrictions were preventing routine access permitted under existing legal and judicial arrangements.
Aleema said the issue of access had been raised on multiple occasions and called for full implementation of court orders regarding meetings with the incarcerated PTI leader. She maintained that family members and legal counsel should be allowed to meet him without unnecessary obstacles.
The PTI leader’s sister also dismissed reports circulating on social media regarding alleged meetings between Imran Khan and certain high-profile figures in jail, describing such claims as baseless and misleading. She urged supporters to rely on verified information rather than speculation.
According to party representatives, concerns over visitation rights and communication facilities remain a key issue for the PTI leadership. They contend that restrictions have affected regular interaction between Imran Khan and individuals entitled to meet him under prison regulations.
There was no immediate detailed response from prison authorities regarding the allegations. Officials have previously maintained that all prison operations and visitation arrangements are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, security requirements, and jail regulations.
Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi remain incarcerated in connection with multiple legal cases, while issues related to prison conditions, visitation rights, and legal proceedings continue to draw political and public attention across the country.
