Sindh has reported three new confirmed cases of Mpox, with all three infections detected through PCR testing at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital in NIPA.
According to hospital sources, two of the confirmed patients are from interior Sindh and include a father and his daughter. The third patient is a 46-year-old man from Federal B Area in Karachi. One additional suspected Mpox patient is also under evaluation, with laboratory results still awaited.
The latest cases have taken the number of confirmed Mpox infections reported in Sindh this year to 40, including 13 cases in Karachi. Health officials are monitoring the situation as further testing is carried out.
Mpox is a viral infection that can cause fever, headache, body aches, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes and a rash that may develop into painful or itchy lesions. The infection can spread through close physical contact with an infected person, particularly contact with lesions or contaminated materials.
Health experts advise people to avoid close contact with individuals showing suspected symptoms and to seek medical attention if unusual rashes or other symptoms develop.
