Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 88 new dengue cases within 24 hours, bringing the province’s total number of infections this year to 4,983, according to health department figures released on October 26, 2026.
Kohat remains the most affected district, with 2,896 reported cases. Peshawar has recorded 611 cases so far, while other districts have also reported infections as dengue continues to pose a public health challenge across the province.
The latest figures show that 4,805 patients have recovered, while 177 cases remain active. Health authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as infections rise during the peak dengue season.
Dengue is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Health experts advise residents to prevent water from collecting in open containers, flowerpots, tyres and rooftop areas, as these can become mosquito breeding sites. Water storage containers should be kept covered, and surroundings should be cleaned regularly.
People experiencing fever, severe headache, body aches, pain behind the eyes or other suspected dengue symptoms should seek medical advice promptly. Early medical assessment can help patients receive appropriate care and reduce the risk of complications.
Health officials continue to urge communities to cooperate with prevention efforts and eliminate mosquito breeding sites to help control the spread of dengue.
