Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has said that despite spending millions of dollars, negative public attitudes towards vaccines have not decreased.

‎A high level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, in which he said that despite millions of dollars being spent by UNICEF, negative trends regarding vaccines still persist. The main objective of the awareness campaign is to reduce the rate of vaccine refusal.

‎He further said that it is necessary to eliminate negative propaganda about vaccines from public minds. Millions of dollars spent in the name of Pakistan are a burden on our shoulders, and the proper and effective use of these funds is the responsibility of the state and the Ministry of Health.

‎He added that multiple meetings have already been held to achieve this objective. The true purpose of healthcare is to protect people from diseases. The Ministry of Health is giving special attention to protecting the public from diseases.

‎He said that proper use of funds can not only bring positive change but can also eliminate negative attitudes towards vaccines. A comprehensive strategy should be formulated to restore public trust in vaccines and ensure transparency, accountability and result oriented measures.
