Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has issued a strict warning that no group or political party will be permitted to storm or march onto the federal capital in light of the detailed judgment issued by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), and the government has made comprehensive security preparations to deal with any attempts to disrupt law and order.

Following the IHC’s detailed verdict regarding protests and long marches, Naqvi stated that the court judgment has left no ambiguity, meaning anyone attempting to violate these orders will immediately face contempt of court proceedings, followed by strict legal action. The Interior Minister emphasized that security forces and law enforcement agencies have received explicit instructions to stop protesters from entering Islamabad by every possible means, warning that if protesters take the law into their own hands, security personnel will respond effectively.

Clarifying the government’s stance, Naqvi noted that while peaceful political rallies are a democratic right, they should be confined to their respective regions or provinces, as using crowds to besiege the capital, paralyze daily life, and infringe upon the fundamental rights of citizens will not be tolerated. Addressing the political leadership, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Naqvi criticized the dual approach of preparing for sit-ins and long marches while the country is dealing with terrorist attacks, urging the provincial government to focus its energy and resources on eliminating terrorism rather than organizing marches toward Islamabad. Finally, Naqvi firmly stated that the organizers of the protest will be held directly responsible for any loss of life or property resulting from confrontations, urging opposition leaders to adopt a path of dialogue and responsibility instead of confrontation, which harms the national economy.
