Petrol, Diesel Prices Cut in Pakistan

The federal government on Wednesday announced a fresh reduction in fuel prices, lowering petrol by Rs0.14 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs1.89 per litre.

Following the latest revision, the price of petrol has been reduced to Rs387.40 per litre from Rs387.54, while HSD will now cost Rs400.35 per litre, down from Rs402.24.

The revised ex-depot prices will take effect from October 1, 2026. According to the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) calculated the new prices in line with the petroleum pricing mechanism approved by the federal government.

The division said fluctuations in international market indicators, including Platts rates, premiums and other incidentals, contributed to the latest adjustment in domestic fuel prices. The latest reduction follows another cut announced on Tuesday, when the government lowered the price of petrol by Rs1.49 per litre to Rs387.54. During the same revision, the price of high-speed diesel was reduced by Rs2.73 per litre to Rs402.24.

The latest adjustment brings petrol down further to Rs387.40 per litre and HSD to Rs400.35 per litre.
