A suspected outbreak of measles has spread in Murad Pur Sangi, where 8 children have died in a few days.
Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa took immediate notice of the reports of child deaths due to measles and sought an urgent report from the District Health Authority.
CEO Health Dr. Babar said that officially no measles case has been reported so far, and no patient of measles has been confirmed at local health centers.
Dr. Babar Ali said that information regarding measles was received through social media, and health department teams have reached the affected areas and started the process of collecting evidence.
The CEO Health said that a door to door survey has been initiated in the area, the causes of the disease are being determined, and a report will be presented soon after a complete investigation of the situation.
