Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has set a vaccination deadline for Hajj pilgrims, requiring them to complete the necessary vaccinations at least 10 days before performing Hajj.
According to the ministry, vaccination is one of the most important preventive measures for protecting pilgrims’ health, as it helps the body develop immunity before they arrive at the holy sites.
Saudi authorities said the requirement is especially important because millions of pilgrims gather in close contact during Hajj, increasing the risk of infectious diseases. Pilgrims have been advised to complete their approved vaccination certificates before travel to avoid any difficulty during entry or while performing Hajj rituals.
The mandatory vaccines include the ACWY meningitis vaccine, which must be taken at least 10 days before travel. Pilgrims have also been urged to keep their medical records, medicines and travel documents ready before departure.
Officials said timely vaccination will help protect both individual pilgrims and the wider Hajj community.
