A four-day targeted polio vaccination campaign will be launched in Rawalpindi district from August 10 to 13 to protect children under the age of five from the poliovirus. The campaign will cover four tehsils of the district as part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to eliminate polio.
According to health authorities, 774,546 children are expected to receive oral polio vaccine drops during the drive. Hundreds of vaccination teams will visit homes, health facilities, and transit points to ensure that every eligible child is vaccinated.
Officials have urged parents and caregivers to fully cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure that no child is missed. They emphasized that repeated vaccination is essential to strengthen immunity and prevent the spread of the virus.
