ISLAMABAD: Investigators have made a major breakthrough in the case of the suicide attack at the Judicial Complex in G-11, arresting the facilitator, the landlord, and four key operatives linked to the TTP/Fitna-ul-Khawarij network behind the blast. Authorities say the mastermind has now been identified, marking a significant step forward in the investigation.

According to officials, the facilitator who helped the suicide bomber rent a room and the landlord who provided accommodation have both been detained as the probe widens. Initial findings reveal that the bomber had entered Pakistan on a visa and had traveled multiple times between Pakistan and Afghanistan during 2024–25.

Investigators traced the attacker’s movements, discovering that he visited Pind Paracha with an accomplice 23 days before the blast, indicating a carefully planned reconnaissance mission. Intelligence sources have confirmed the identity of the individual believed to be the mastermind.

In a separate joint operation, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested four members of the terror cell, including the group’s operational commander, Information Minister Atta Tarar said.

During interrogation, handler Sajidullah alias Sheena admitted that he received attack orders from TTP commander Saeed-ur-Rehman alias Dadullah, who is based in Afghanistan and serves as the group’s intelligence chief for Bajaur. Dadullah had sent Sajidullah photos of the bomber, Usman alias Qari, and directed him to bring the attacker into Pakistan.

Following these instructions, Sajidullah collected a suicide jacket from Peshawar’s Akhan Baba Cemetery and transported it to Islamabad. On the day of the attack, he personally strapped the jacket onto the bomber before sending him to the Judicial Complex.

Officials say the entire network involved in the attack including the commander and three associates has now been arrested. Investigators expect more revelations and possible further arrests as the probe continues.
