KARACHI: The Sindh government formally launched its Peace Mission and Surrender Policy 2025, marking a major breakthrough in restoring order across the province’s most troubled regions.

At the official ceremony, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar paid tribute to the Sindh Police, Rangers, and other law enforcement agencies for their courage and tireless efforts in maintaining peace. The event was attended by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, DIGs of Larkana and Sukkur, SSPs, and senior officials from various security agencies.

Under the Surrender Policy 2025, a total of 72 notorious dacoits surrendered to authorities, handing over more than 200 weapons, including 62 G3 rifles, 97 SMGs, 48 double-barrel guns, and two RPG launchers. The surrendered arms also included heavy weapons such as an Anti-Tank RR-75 and a 12.7mm Anti-Aircraft Gun.

The surrender follows the success of the Garhi Tegho Operation, which lasted five months and resulted in the safe recovery of 107 hostages. The combined efforts of Shikarpur Police and other law enforcement agencies led to several successful operations, including Kot Shaho, Jagan, Kalhoro (Madeji), and Bagarji (Sukkur).

During the Bachal Bhio operation, notorious dacoit Shero Mehr was killed. Officials revealed that the surrendered dacoits had bounties totaling over Rs60 million.

Among the surrendered outlaws:

  • Nisar Sabzoi had 82 FIRs and a bounty of Rs3 million.

  • Ladu Teghani faced 93 FIRs with a Rs2 million bounty.

  • Sukhio Teghani had 49 cases with a Rs6 million bounty.

  • Sonaro Teghani faced 26 cases with a Rs6 million bounty.

  • Jummo Teghani had 24 cases with a Rs2 million bounty.

  • Miln alias Wajo Teghani faced 29 cases with a Rs3 million bounty.

  • Gulzar Bhoro Teghani had 14 cases with a Rs3 million bounty.

  • Ghulam Hussain alias Namo Teghani carried a Rs300,000 bounty.

  • Noor Din Teghani faced 6 cases with a Rs1.5 million bounty.

Home Minister Lanjar saluted the bravery and sacrifices of Sindh Police personnel, particularly honoring the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The event was also attended by provincial lawmakers Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, Shehryar Mehr, Abid Bhio, Gul Muhammad Jakhrani, and other PPP leaders, along with senior officials from Rangers and the armed forces.
