Extreme heatwaves are affecting not only physical health but also mental and emotional well being.

‎According to experts, continuously high temperatures are rapidly increasing problems such as irritability, anxiety, fatigue, mental stress and sleep disorders among people.

‎Medical experts say that during hot weather the body constantly tries to keep itself cool, which causes physical exhaustion and mental stress. Sweating, humidity, discomfort and lack of sleep negatively affect a person’s mood and tolerance level.

‎According to medical experts, inability to get proper sleep at night during hot weather also becomes a major cause of worry and anxiety. Many people wake up repeatedly or fail to get complete sleep, which increases mental fatigue, lack of concentration and restlessness.

‎Dehydration also affects brain performance. During extreme heat or heatwaves, lack of water in the body can cause symptoms such as headaches, weakness, irritability, rapid heartbeat and panic, which further increase mental stress.

‎Due to extreme heat, people remain confined to their homes, resulting in reduced physical activities and social interaction.

‎According to medical experts, this situation can increase sadness, loneliness and mental stress, especially among individuals already suffering from anxiety or depression.

‎Experts have advised people to drink more water during the summer season, rest in cool places, minimize caffeine intake and do light exercise during morning or evening hours. Breathing exercises, meditation and reducing screen time can also help improve mental peace.
