Through the tireless efforts of the SIFC, Pakistan has, for the first time in its history, implemented the National Blood Transfusion Policy following its approval by the federal cabinet.
The National Blood Transfusion Policy was comprehensively facilitated by the SIFC through strong inter ministerial and inter provincial coordination. As part of a revolutionary initiative in the health and biotech sector, the process of plasma fractionation has been introduced, which will lead to self reliance in plasma manufacturing.
This policy will help Pakistan gain access to global markets, enabling the development of export capacity for plasma derived products.
According to Dr Darnaz Jamal, Secretary of the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority, the long pending policy was implemented with the support of the SIFC. She said that this step reflects the government’s comprehensive strategy and efforts to strengthen the health sector.
According to Brigadier (retd) Dr Nuzhat Mushahid, a hematology expert, she congratulated the SIFC, all ministries, provinces, and health experts who provided their professional input in formulating this policy.
