During anti quackery operations, the Punjab Healthcare Commission sealed 492 quack clinics across the province.
According to the commission’s spokesperson, raids were conducted in 36 districts in November, a crackdown was launched against 2,128 centres, and 1,123 centres were also placed under monitoring.
The spokesperson said that 291 quack clinics were voluntarily closed or converted into other legal businesses. In Lahore, 507 raids were conducted, followed by 150 in Rawalpindi and 132 in Rahim Yar Khan.
The spokesperson further stated that the highest number of closures was in Lahore, where 139 quack centres were sealed, followed by 32 in Gujranwala, 31 in Rahim Yar Khan, 26 in Faisalabad, 24 in Rawalpindi, and 21 illegal centres sealed in Okara.
Moreover, so far, more than 248,000 raids have been conducted, 64,000 illegal centres sealed, and over 30,000 quacks have voluntarily shut down their illegal practices.
