Efforts to eradicate polio are continuing rapidly across Sindh, where a total of 3.13 million children have been administered anti polio drops by the third day of the ongoing campaign in 20 districts of the province.

‎According to the administration, the most notable performance so far has been recorded in the Larkana division, where the highest number of children, 975,000, have been vaccinated.

‎Meanwhile, a special anti polio booster campaign in 89 union councils of the provincial capital Karachi has entered its eighth day and will continue until May 24, 2026.

‎Officials said that due to the dense population and constant movement of people, Karachi has always remained a high risk area for the spread of polio. In view of this risk, booster doses are being administered in these high risk areas to completely stop the growth and spread of the virus.

‎Officials of the Sindh Polio Program stated that 1.62 million children have so far been given booster vaccines in all 89 union councils of Karachi.

‎Representatives of the anti polio program said that teams in the field are persuading reluctant parents through counselling and awareness efforts to ensure that no child is deprived of the protective dose and that the city can be made polio free.
