Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has signed a new agreement with Sehat Kahani to expand Pakistan’s telemedicine programme into its second phase.
The initiative aims to make healthcare services more accessible, particularly for people living in remote and underserved areas.
Through telemedicine centres, patients can consult qualified doctors online, receive digital prescriptions and access follow-up care without travelling long distances.
The programme also supports the use of digital medical records and enables doctors, including female medical professionals, to provide consultations remotely.
The government says the expansion will strengthen primary healthcare facilities and help reduce overcrowding at major hospitals.
The second phase is expected to build on the progress of the existing partnership between the Health Ministry and Sehat Kahani.
