CHONGQING: A Pakistani medical student studying in China has shared insights into the experience of learning about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and exploring the country’s healthcare and cultural traditions in Chongqing.

The experience highlights the growing educational and cultural exchange between Pakistan and China, particularly among Pakistani students pursuing medical education in Chinese universities.

During medical and cultural activities in Chongqing, international students have had opportunities to learn about Chinese medicine and observe healthcare practices. Such programmes can provide medical students with exposure to approaches that differ from conventional Western medical education while encouraging cross-cultural understanding.

Chongqing Medical University has hosted international students through academic and cultural programmes, where participants have explored areas including Chinese medicine, clinical medicine and dentistry. Students have also visited medical facilities and taken part in hands-on educational activities.

For Pakistani medical students, experiences in China can offer more than classroom education by providing opportunities to understand different medical traditions, healthcare systems and cultural practices.

The growing presence of Pakistani students in China also reflects the expanding educational ties between the two countries, with medicine remaining one of the important fields of study among Pakistani students in Chinese universities.

The experience demonstrates how medical education and cultural exchange can help students broaden their professional knowledge while developing a deeper understanding of healthcare practices in another country.
