Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq, has issued a special message regarding the first national anti polio campaign of 2026, stating that the campaign will be held from February 2 to February 8.
She said that during the national campaign, the target is to protect more than 45 million children from polio across the country. For this purpose, more than 400,000 polio workers will go door to door to administer polio drops to children under the age of five.
Ayesha Raza Farooq appealed to parents and the community to ensure full cooperation with polio workers and to make sure their children receive polio drops during every campaign.
She said that federal and provincial institutions are working with complete unity to eradicate polio and that the Government of Pakistan is fully committed to the complete elimination of the disease.
The focal person emphasized that public cooperation is of key importance for the eradication of polio, while religious scholars and the media must also play an effective role in promoting awareness about polio.
In conclusion, she said, let us all join hands to defeat polio and ensure a healthy Pakistan.
