Washington – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with US President Donald Trump at the Oval Office in the White House. The meeting lasted for one hour and twenty minutes and was attended by Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the talks were held in a cordial atmosphere. US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were also present. Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest along with regional and international developments.

Before the meeting, President Trump praised Pakistan’s leadership, calling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir “remarkable leaders.” Speaking to reporters at his office, Trump said: “We have great leaders coming – the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Field Marshal. They are both outstanding personalities.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Sharif arrived at Andrew Air Base, where he was warmly received with a red-carpet welcome by senior US Air Force officials. His motorcade, under tight American security, escorted him to the White House.

The Prime Minister is currently in the US to attend the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where he is scheduled to address the gathering later today. Notably, Shehbaz Sharif also met President Trump yesterday on the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Summit.
